FXも長いことやっています。
最初にやったのは、確か菅（かん）さんが首相のころでした。菅さんだか閣僚だかの発言で、為替が私の思惑とは逆に動き、大損しました。
菅政権では、JALも倒産して、持ち株が紙くずになり、それ以来JALには乗りません。産経新聞に言うだけ番長と揶揄された前原大臣が、JALは潰さないと言ったので、株を売らずに持っていたら、潰れました。
話がそれましたが、FXは最初に大損して、それ以来、あまり大きく張らないようにしてきましたが、昨年からシステムFXというものをやり始めました。今のところうまくいっていますが、調子に乗って大損しないように、金額は少なめにしておこうと思っています。
Friends積立投資
Friends Provident Internationalの積立投資を10年近くやっています。ずっとクレジットカード払いにしてきましたが、最近、銀行引き落としに変更しました。
クレジットカード払いだと、1％の手数料が掛かります。1,000ドルの積立金額なら、支払い金額は1,010ドルとなります。クレジットカード払いだと、ポイント還元で1%ぐらいは取り返せるので、まあいいかと思ってました。
しかし、積立はドルですが、それを円で払うので、クレジットカード会社の為替手数料が掛かります。手数料は、どこの会社もおおむね2%程度のようです。
そうすると、1,000ドル積み立てるのに、クレジットカード払い手数料1%と為替手数料2%を含めた1,030ドル支払わねばならないことになります。最初から3％も負けていたのでは、元本キープも容易ではありません。実際、私は元本割れが続いています。
そういうわけで、ようやく重い腰を上げて、この状況を変えることにしました。立ち上がるのに10年も掛かりました。
実際にやったことは次の通り。
１．HSBC Hong Kongの口座を引き落とし口座に指定する
Friends積立の代理店に頼んで、必要書類をもらい、記入して提出しました。手続き完了まで1か月も掛からなかったと思います。
HSBC Hong Kongの口座は、Friendsの積立を始めたときに開設していました。我ながらgood job。
２．HSBC Hong Kongの口座に送金する
USの銀行口座のドルを、Transferwiseで送金しました。Transferwiseはとても便利で、手数料もとても安い。これに勝る送金方法を私は知りません。
今後１年分の積立金額を送金したので、来年にはまた送金が必要になります。USの銀行口座には、もうあんまり残高がないので、ドルを調達する必要がありますが、自分が良いと思ったタイミングで、FXで買って現物引出をするつもりです（機械的に一定期間ごとに少しずつ買っていくのもいいかもしれません。ドルコスト平均法？）。私が調べた限り、FXが一番為替レートが良いと思います。もっと良い方法をご存知の方は、ぜひ教えてください。HSBC Hong Kongへの送金は、Transferwiseをまた使うと思います。
余談ですが、FXはレバレッジを掛けて一攫千金を狙いたくなりますが、レバレッジを掛けずに両替の手段として使うと便利なことに気が付きました。ずいぶん高い授業料を払いました（涙）。
これで、基本的には、手数料なしに、積立をできることになりました。次は、Fund Allocationを自分でやってみようと思っています。
サマータイム
日本と私が住んでいるイギリスには９時間の時差があります。夏の間は、イギリスのサマータイムにより、時差が８時間になります。今日（２０１９年８月１９日）現在は、８時間の時差で、日本の正午は、イギリスの午前４時、イギリスの正午は、日本の午後８時ということになります。
EUは近い将来にサマータイムを廃止するようです。イギリスは今年EUから抜けますが（Brexit）、サマータイムを続けるのかどうかは知りません。
個人的にはサマータイムは止めて欲しいです。１年に２度時計をずらし、それに合わせて生活リズムもずらさなくてはなりません。最も効いてくるのが、起床時間です。冬時間から夏時間に切り替わる際に、１時間早く起きなければならなくなります。しんどいです。
夏時間のおかげで、ロンドンは夏至（英語では、the summer solsticeというそうです）のころは２２時頃まで明るいです。でも、そんな遅くまで明るい必要があるんでしょうか。
ところで、今回初めて知りましたが、夏至の日が、一年で日の出（sunrise）が一番早く、日の入（sunset）が一番遅いわけではないのでした。
今年（２０１９）の夏至は６月２１日（日本は同２２日）でしたが、日の出、日の入は次の通りでした。
日の出：4:41:29
日の入：21:23:01
一方、今年の最も早い日の出は６月１７日の4:41:07（夏至の日よりも２２秒早い）、最も遅い日の入は６月２５日の21:23:25（夏至の日よりも２４秒遅い）だったそうです。
夏至の日は、日の出も日の入も一番ではないですが、トータル（日の出から日の入までの時間の長さ）では一番というわけです。総合力で勝負というところでしょうか。
地軸が傾いた地球が、自転しつつ太陽の周りを公転しているから、こういうことになっているんでしょうが、感覚的に理解が追いつきません。ちゃんと勉強したらわかるようになるんでしょうか。
宇宙の話は難しいです。月がいつみても同じ模様なのも不思議です。いつか詳しい人に教えて欲しいです。
地動説が正しくて天動説が間違っているというのも良く分かりません。実は地球は止まっているのだけど、あたかも太陽が中心にあるかのように太陽その他が地球の周りを動いている、と言えないのでしょうか。顔が映るように頭にカメラをつけると、顔が止まっていて、体や周りの景色が動いているように見えるじゃないですか。
おそらく、天動説が言っているのはそんなことではないんでしょう。地動説、天動説という漢字表現（日本製？）に引きずられるのが良くないんだと思います。漢字表現には、「認知症」とか字面からは理解しにくい表現もありますから、人を見た目で判断してはいけないように、熟語（特に翻訳）を字面で判断してはいけないという教訓にしたいと思います。
もともと何語かは知りませんが、英語では、天動説をheliocentric theory、地動説をgeocentric theoryと言うようです。日本語に直訳すると太陽中心説、地球中心説になると思いますが、こちらの方が誤解が少ないのではないかと思います。
